I am fascinated by aquaria. The water world that is otherwise invisible to us is so very different than the world we live in. While it can be challenging to capture, the results can be fascinating.
In 2015, in the midst of my treatments for round 2 of cancer, we took a break and went to San Francisco (to see the Giants!) and then down and back up the Pacific Coast Highway. We stopped for a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium where their special exhibit was Jellyfish.
It was a fascinating visit. I’ve never been able to see jellyfish as I did then and found them to be beautiful, colorful, and graceful creatures. They were almost musical. Watching them swim about brought to mind Strauss’ Blue Danube.
Unabashadly shameless plug, ignore if you so desire.
