20170919 Iceland Smithsonian Tues. Aurora
Tuesday night was our first opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The weather was cool with a little overcast and it was unclear as to whether we would see the lights, if they occurred. They did. And we did. The pics tell all! Actually, they tell more. I was able to set up my tripod and follow the strongest lights as they gradually appeared and then disappeared. What we actually saw was a muted version with some highlights, but the camera saw more. I was especially pleased with the slight cloud cover which provided some interesting depth.
